Registration for the CeMEB 2024 Autumn Assembly

The meeting starts at 10.00 on 22nd October and ends at 14.00 on 24th October

Open topic with a special one-day focus on Artificial Intelligence in Evolutionary Research

The focus of this Assembly is on the use and application of machine learning methods in evolutionary research in the sea. The meeting will combine keynote talks by invited speakers, presentations from CeMEB members, and there will also be plenty of time for interesting group discussions on a variety of topics. One day of the assembly will focus on the AI topic, the rest of the assembly will consist of open sessions where all members can present their ongoing research.
 
Keynote speakers:

Carl Nettelblad, Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor at the Department of Information Technology; Division of Scientific Computing; Uppsala University

Chris C R Smith, Postdoctoral Associate at the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences (CIRES); University of Colorado Boulder.

Matteo Fumagalli, Senior Lecturer in Genetics at the School of Biological and Behavioural Sciences; Queen Mary University of London and Fellow at The Alan Turing Institute.

 

CeMEB is a Linnaeus Centre of Excellence with a focus on marine evolutionary biology research. The centre started 2008 and currently hosts 70 researchers and graduate students. CeMEB has bi-annual meetings under which presentations are mixed with group discussions, and with time for informal interactions. The venue is the Tjärnö Marine Laboratory owned by University of Gothenburg.
