Tjärnö Marine Laboratory with Kerstin Johannesson as station manager is responsible for the safety of everyone who works there.

To protect all our colleagues who work in the field, we have begun using risk assessments during some parts of the year, and year-round for work being conducted alone or outside the specified geographic area.

The risk assessment is mandatory for fieldwork conducted between the 20th of October and the 31st of May. The water temperatures during this period are often under 12°C, and greatly increase the risks associated with fieldwork.

Station staff will read each risk assessment, and their experience combined with your careful thought will increase the odds of conducting fieldwork safely and effectively through the colder months of the year.
